My mission in the media center is to provide quality media, technology, and information services in order to enhance learning and ensure access to ideas and information for all students and staff.
The media center at my school supports all areas of instruction, providing media resrouces, facilities, and servies to the instructional staff and students. Resources are available in a variety of formats to meet various learning styles and interests. I am committed to providing a system of flexible scheduling as to allow for individuals or groups to use the media center when needed. The concept of media service contributes to the development of life-long learners and to individual self-fulfillment.
The media center is the center of instructional suppor tand informational service for my school and is organized for maximum accessibility and optimum service to students and staff. I am committed to creating an inviting, stimulating environment and to planning with the instructional staff to provide effective and efficient educational experiences for students. Formal and informal instruction in the use of media resources and equipment should focus on teh development of skills and attitudes necessary to promote life-long learning. I will plan and work with the instructors to identify, select, and provide the best resources and activities to meet individual needs.
I am committed to maintaining active membership in several professional organizations including ALA and GLMA. I recognize the important role of professional organizations in maintaining the credibility of the media profession while the journals the organization publish assure the I stay connected to current trends/issues related to media services and information literacy.
